1. Visit Flamingo Gardens
Flamingo Gardens is probably one of Fort Lauderdale’s best kept secrets. It covers 320 acres of land on Long Key in the Everglades. It is the first botanical garden and tourist attraction in all of South Florida. There you can see over 3000 tropical and sub-tropical plants and trees. It also houses over 83 native species including alligators, bobcats, panthers, otters, eagles, peacocks, and of course flamingos (oh my!).
2. Go on an Everglades Boat Tour
The Everglades Boat Tours is located in Sawgrass Recreation Park. This 30 minute ride gives you a tour of the Florida Everglades. You can either join a boat tour or schedule your own private boat tour with friends and family. The private boat tour offers exclusive locations and opportunities to see a variety of both native and exotic animals.
3. Attend Sunday Jazz Brunch at Riverwalk
This amazing event, hosted by Suntrust, features the area’s best local jazz artists on 3 different stages in Fort Lauderdale’s historic Riverwalk. Sunday Jazz Brunch is the first Sunday of every month. You can bring chairs, blankets and picnic baskets with your own brunch as you enjoy the live music; or stop by one of the restaurants along the river walk for some great local eats.
4. Shop at Sawgrass Mills Mall
Sawgrass Mills is not only the biggest mall in the state of Florida but also an outlet (huge deals). To walk this mall you would need 2 whole days! This mall houses over 350 stores, with a wide variety to suit everyone’s taste. There are also great restaurants, an IMAX theater and mini spas if you want to take a break from the amazing shopping.

The Museum offers multiple exhibits and houses one of the two IMAX theaters (the other is at Sawgrass Mills Mall) in Broward County. It has the most visitors of all museums in the state of Florida. Some of the exhibits include the Everglades Airboat Adventure, Prehistoric Florida, Otters at Play, Storm Center and Florida Water Center. This is a great place to take the family.
8. Spend the Day at the Hugh Taylor Birch State Park

10. Enjoy the Night Life at Seminole Hard Rock Hotel and Casino
Hard Rock is so much more than just a casino. Don’t get me wrong, it’s amazing but there is much more to do there.
