Regal Princess Sails from Port Everglades Next Month

Princess Cruises celebrates the new cruise season with a ship-naming ceremony at Port Everglades on November 5. The line’s newest ship, Regal Princess, will be honored by a star-studded group including the original cast of television’s “The Love Boat.”

Short Cruises Mean More Business to South Florida

In an effort to provide more options to travelers, cruise lines like Carnival, Royal Caribbean, and Celebrity are bringing 3-day cruises and 4-day cruises departing from Port Everglades starting October 2013.

And the prices are amazing! “Prices start as low as $169 per person on some trips. Most others are under $400,” stated Arlene Satchell in her Sun-Sentinel article.

These shorter cruises will mean more tourists to South Florida which will in turn bring more business to the area as well.

"This is good for the local economy because we will be seeing more guests midweek and in the slower summer months,'' port spokeswoman Ellen Kennedy said in the article.
