Port Everglades gets a Facelift!
Port Everglades will look very different this upcoming 2013-2014 cruise season. Our frequent cruisers here at Rodeway Inn & Suites, hotel near Port Everglades Cruise port, will notice the difference in the sky with the absence of the smokestacks. This morning at 6:45am July 16th, the famous 1960's era red and white smokestacks of Florida's Port Everglades power plant will be demolished to make way for a new, more fuel efficient plant that runs on clean, low cost American natural gas.
The new power plant will be built by 2016 and will help keep bills low for customers, create more jobs for Flordians, boost the local economy, and be overall better for our environment.
My fellow Rodeway Inn & Suites coworkers and myself are happy about the new plant. The creation of more jobs in South Florida is always a positive in my opinion. I forsee a bright future and this new plant will help Florida and Port Everglades Cruise Port progress and continue to be one of the best and busiest cruise ports in the world.
