In an effort to provide more options to travelers, cruise lines like Carnival, Royal Caribbean, and Celebrity are bringing 3-day cruises and 4-day cruises departing from Port Everglades starting October 2013.
These shorter cruises will mean more tourists to South Florida which will in turn bring more business to the area as well.
"This is good for the local economy because we will be seeing more guests midweek and in the slower summer months,'' port spokeswoman Ellen Kennedy said in the article.
These shorter cruises and cheaper prices are sure to fit your budget and schedule. With #CruiseSeason right around the corner, be sure to book your trip today!
More Budget Friendly tips:
- Book your flight the night before your cruise and the day after. Statistics have shown that flying at those times are drastically cheaper. This also helps with last minute flight delays and cancellations.
- Stay at a hotel that provides free shuttles to and from your cruise port ( like The Rodeway Inn & Suites in Fort Lauderdale)
- If you’re traveling as a family or with a group of friends, make sure to let the cruise line/airline/hotel know so that you can take advantage of their awesome group rates. Some cruise lines even give you a free room if your party is large enough.
