New this year on the cruising circuit: Celebrity chef cruises.

A pair of chef-centered cruises will depart from southFlorida in November. On Holland America,
cruisers will be able to gather & grub with selected talent from Fox’s Master Chef. On Celebrity Cruise Lines, passengers can mingle & munch will past contestants from Bravo’s Top Chef.

Chef cruises allow guests to experience close-up the exciting world of television cooking. Interactive events include special dinners, cooking demonstrations, contests, games and mixers. For extra fees,
guests can take personal cooking classes or dine with celebrities from the shows.

One cruise departs from Port Everglades, while the other travels from PortMiami:

Master Chef Cruise

This seven-day cruise aboard Holland America’s ms Westerdam represents the debut of this chef-centered event. The journey, which includes visits to Turks and Caicos, Puerto Rico, St. Thomas and Bahamas, departs Fort Lauderdale on November 8 and returns on November 15.

The cruise features Graham Elliot, one of the three judges on the Masterchef show. He’ll cook, dine and chat with cruisers all week long. The list of chef participants includes Masterchef winners from seasons 3, 4 and 5, as well as some of your favorite past contestants.

First day at sea features half a dozen interactive cooking events, including a live Mystery Box challenge. Port days on Monday and Tuesday are filled with events, while Wednesday is day off for the chefs. The cooking action returns on Thursday, before a grand cook-off concludes the cruise on Friday.

Top Chef at Sea

This seven-day cruise from PortMiami is the fourth and final in a series of Top Chef cruises in 2014. The three previous Top Chef cruises visited Bahamas, Europe and Alaska. This cruise, aboard Celebrity Reflection, tours the eastern Caribbean from November 15 through November 22.

Former Top Chef contestants from Denver, Dallas, Las Vegas and San Francisco will be on hand all week to demonstrate their cooking techniques. Featured events include interactive Quickfire Challenges, where competing chefs are provided one hour to cook special meals chosen by the judges. The voyage includes visits to Puerto Rico, St. Thomas and St. Maarten.

Guests can choose to purchase private cooking classes or attend exclusive onboard events hosted by the former contestants. Additionally, Celebrity has been introducing Quickfire Challenges and other Top Chef-inspired menu evenings to their luxury vacations since June.
